RTTS' Assessment provides a fact-based
evaluation of your current testing practices
and recommendations on how to improve your
process. The typical engagement entails 2
days of on-site interviews, information
gathering, and research. RTTS resources will
meet with members of your team to assess the
project and to obtain a more in-depth
knowledge of your project, process,
architecture and needs. This is followed by
off-site analysis and report generation, the
length determined by the extensiveness of
our findings.
Program Features:
• Architectural Analysis - All testing
approaches differ based upon the
architecture of the application being
deployed. The Assessment begins with an
analysis of the technical architecture.
• Application Analysis - We need to
understand the application's business role
and how it functions to assist us with
identifying critical paths.
• Test Process Evaluation - A review must be
performed of the current test process to
find out the maturity level of the process
and compare it to an efficient process.
Evaluate the manual process, the written
test cases, the test data to be utilized,
the metrics program and the automation
process, if any.
• Project Metrics - RTTS will assess the
project-related metrics (scope, tasks,
resources, time-to-market) to help determine
realistic time frames.
• Test Automation Best Practices - RTTS has
long ago documented a "best practice" for
automated software quality. We will evaluate
which tools, if any, are being utilized and
make recommendations for how to implement or
improve them.
• Test Automation Script Review - If
automation is being utilized, RTTS will
examine the code from automated test scripts
already created and make recommendations as
to how the code can be made more robust and
more easily maintainable.
• Metrics Evaluation - A close examination
of key metrics is undertaken and
recommendations are made regarding metrics
tracking.
• Testing Risk-Based Assessment - RTTS
evaluates the test types that are applicable
to the project and determines which should
be implemented and the risk of not
performing others.
• ROI - As part of our assessment RTTS looks
at the return on investment that can be
achieved through test automation.
Deliverables:
1. Final Report - When the assessment
questionnaire is completed, RTTS analyzes
the information and composes an extensive
report formalizing the assessment and
providing recommendations.
2. Proposal for Successful Implementation -
The final report will include fact-based
estimates on the amount of resources needed
to successful implement this plan. The
estimate will include cost of training and
consulting services required.
